Luego de mucha investigación, pude descomprimir los reportes de Macrofiche COLD (by Macrosoft). Este excelente sistema COLD utiliza varios algoritmos de compresión que seguramente indican distintas etapas en la evolución del producto. Gracias a esto pude desarrollar dos herramientas muy prácticas para ambientes Windows o Unix:

• mfw2txt: Extracción de los reportes en archivos del tipo ASCII plano para la migración a otros sistemas COLD.
• mfw2pdf: Una herramienta para generar los reportes de Macrofiche en PDF de manera de hacer distribución de reportes de forma más liviana que el clásico CD Mastering de Macrosoft.

After a lot of investigation, I could decompress the reports of Macrofiche COLD (by Macrosoft). This excellent COLD system uses several compression ways, that surely indicates different stages in the evolution of the product. Thanks to this I could develop two useful tools for Windows or UNIX environments:

• mfw2txt: Extraction of the reports to flat type ASCII files, for migration to other COLD systems

• mfw2pdf: A tool to export Macrofiche reports in pdf files, useful to make distribution of reports in a lighter way than the traditional CD Mastering by Macrosoft.
